Recognizing that your business is unique, we have hired individuals who have been involved in the industry for years and understand the nature of local government.
Leonard McCabe – General Manager
Leonard has a Diploma in Sales and Marketing from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from Royal Roads University. He has extensive experience growing companies in the high tech sector. Leonard has held numerous senior management positions in Western Canada over the last 25 years. His broad range of experience includes software/hardware development, systems consulting, and system integration for medium and large enterprise customers in Canada. He is an active volunteer in the community and currently has a position with the BC Provincial Emergency Communications Services.
Michael Jensen – Manager of Implementation Services
Michael is a shareholder and co-founder of Tempest Development along with Tim Perry. He has a Diploma of Technology in Computer Systems from the B.C. Institute of Technology. Michael spent six years at NISSI Technologies (now Cayenta) specializing in the development of government applications such as B.C. Property Taxation and General Ledger. He was with the District of Chilliwack’s Information Services department for one year and spent an additional four years under contract there where he began development of what is now the Tempest software suite. As one of the original founders of Tempest, Michael has been instrumental in the growth of the company and its software over the years. Michael currently leads the implementation services team.
Tim Perry – Manager of Research and Development
Tim is a shareholder and co-founder of Tempest Development along with Michael Jensen. He has a Diploma of Technology in Computer Systems from the B.C. Institute of Technology and has worked in the municipal marketplace since 1985. He has been involved in all facets of municipal software including design, development, installation, and support. Tim currently leads the research and development team. In this position, Tim is responsible for the strategic direction of the company’s software.
Maureen Dixon – Manager of Support Services
Maureen has a Diploma of Technology in Computer Systems from the B.C. Institute of Technology. She came to Tempest with years of experience in the Information Technology division of Canadian Airlines and American Airlines, as a systems analyst and programmer. In these positions, Maureen participated in projects that included aircraft maintenance scheduling, labour tracking and costing, payroll, and management information systems.
Maureen joined the Tempest team in November of 2000, initially as a member of the Development department where she worked primarily on the Cash, Pre-Authorized Withdrawals, Property Tax, and Utility Billing systems. In March of 2007, Maureen was promoted to Manager of Support Services. In this position, she is responsible for the Support Help Desk, support developers, and end user documentation.
Janet Jensen – Senior Client Manager
Janet has over twenty-five years of experience in all aspects of the software industry, including training, documentation, and support at B.C. Institute of Technology, NISSI Technologies (now Cayenta), and the Township of Langley. Janet has been with Tempest Development since 1995, working in all areas including: implementation, support, documentation, and administration. For the past ten years, Janet has focused primarily on sales and marketing for Western Canada and is responsible for organizing the annual User Conference.
